Antigua and Barbuda has expanded its regional air links with the launch of a new non-stop service to the Dominican Republic.
Sunrise Airways began operating twice-weekly flights between Las Américas International Airport and V.C. Bird International Airport on Tuesday.
The service runs on Tuesdays and Saturdays, providing a direct connection between the two Caribbean destinations.
On Tuesdays, flights leave Santo Domingo at 13:00 local time and arrive in Antigua at 14:35. The return service departs Antigua at 15:20.
On Saturdays, the flight leaves Santo Domingo at 09:00, arriving in Antigua at 10:35, with the return leg departing at 11:20.
Tourism and aviation officials say the new route is expected to strengthen intra-Caribbean travel and support tourism, trade and cultural exchange between Antigua and Barbuda and the Dominican Republic.
