The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission has released a list of guidelines for voters ahead of the St. Philip North by-election scheduled for March 16, 2026.

In a public advisory, the Commission reminded residents that polling will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and encouraged electors to be prepared and follow instructions from polling officials to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Voters are advised to bring their voter identification cards, listen carefully to directions from the presiding officer, and pay close attention to the party symbols on the ballot before marking their choice.

The Commission also reminded voters that they must select only one candidate and should ask polling officials for clarification if they are unsure about any part of the voting process.

Several restrictions will also be in place at polling stations.

According to the advisory, mobile phones and smartwatches will be collected upon entry and will not be allowed inside the voting area. Electors are also expected to behave respectfully and avoid any disruptive conduct.

The Commission further cautioned that voters must not mark the ballot for more than one candidate, and should avoid wearing party colours when attending polling stations.

Additionally, no election paraphernalia will be permitted within 100 yards of any polling station, in keeping with electoral regulations designed to maintain order and neutrality around voting locations.

Residents of the St. Philip North constituency will go to the polls Monday to choose their parliamentary representative in the by-election.
