InterCaribbean Airways has been named Best Airline of the Year – Regional (The Caribbean) at the 2026 PATWA International Travel Awards, presented during the ITB Berlin travel trade show in Germany.

The recognition from the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) highlights airlines, airports and aviation service providers demonstrating excellence in connectivity, innovation, passenger experience and operational performance.

InterCaribbean Airways topped the regional category for the Caribbean, reflecting its growing network across the region and its role in strengthening air connectivity between island states.

Other Caribbean-related honours were also announced, with Sunrise Airways receiving the award for Best Airline of the Year (The Caribbean).

The global awards also recognized several aviation leaders in other regions. Thai Airways International was named Best Airline of the Year – Service Excellence (Asia), while Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok received the award for Best Airport (Asia).

Additional winners included Nadi International Airport in Fiji, which was recognized as Best Airport (South Pacific Islands), and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport for Best Airport Innovation (Middle East).

In the corporate categories, Encalm Hospitality was awarded Best Company – Airport Hospitality Services (India), while Aeropuertos Argentina received the title of Best Company – Airport Management (South America).

PATWA said the awards celebrate organizations that are shaping the future of air travel through improved connectivity, sustainable initiatives and enhanced passenger experiences. The honours were presented during events linked to ITB Berlin, one of the world’s largest travel and tourism trade fairs.
