Newton attacks Pringle’s record, promises land and road upgrades in All Saints blitz

ABLP candidate Lamin Newton accused opposition leader Jamale Pringle of failing constituents and pledged land access and road improvements during a campaign blitz in All Saints East and St Luke.

“We gave Jamal Pringle two terms and he has done absolutely nothing,” Newton said. “And have the audacity to come and ask you for a third one. For what?”

Newton urged voters to support the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party slate, framing the election as an opportunity for change.

“When we win, you all win,” he said.

He outlined plans to make land available to residents, saying 50 acres had already been identified for distribution.

“We have made 50 acres of land available for you, the people of Olsen… you should benefit from owning your own piece of land,” Newton said.

Newton also promised infrastructure upgrades across several communities, including road paving works.

“You have given your commitment that we will continue to pitch all the roads here in Arsene, in Switzerland, in Paris, in John Hughes, and in Old Road,” he said.

He further criticised Pringle’s representation, claiming the opposition leader had failed to advocate for constituents at the national level.

“Jamal has never even written a letter to the Cabinet on your behalf,” Newton said.

Newton closed by urging voters to turn out on April 30, calling it a chance to “make it right.”
