Voter ID card renewals are continuing up to the final hours ahead of the April 30 general election, with hundreds of applications still being processed in the closing days.

Data from the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission shows sustained activity this week, including 289 replacement applications on April 27 and 253 on April 28, following 73 on April 26.

The figures bring the weekly replacement total so far to 615, underscoring a late surge as voters move to secure valid identification before polling day.

Overall, more than 32,000 replacement voter ID cards have been processed for April, with several constituencies surpassing 60 percent completion and others nearing full coverage.

St. Peter leads with 93 percent completion, while All Saints West stands at 72 percent and St. Mary’s South at 71 percent, reflecting strong turnout in key areas.

Despite the high numbers, the latest figures indicate that renewals are still taking place “down to the minute,” as voters make final efforts to ensure they are eligible to cast their ballots.

Election Day is set for Thursday, April 30.
