**Holness Congratulates Browne After Fourth-Term Election Victory**

Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness has congratulated Gaston Browne following his victory in Antigua and Barbuda’s April 30 general election, which secured him a fourth consecutive term in office.

Browne’s Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) won 15 of the 17 parliamentary seats in Thursday’s polls, delivering one of the most decisive outcomes in recent history and extending the party’s time in government beyond a decade.

In a statement, Holness noted that Browne’s re-election also makes him the longest-serving Prime Minister in the country’s modern political era.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister-elect Gaston Browne on retaining a fourth term in office… I look forward to the continued strengthening of the partnership between our countries as we advance our shared regional priorities,” Holness said.

The election saw the ABLP secure a dominant mandate over the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP), which was reduced to a single seat in Parliament, while the Barbuda People’s Movement (BPM) retained its hold on Barbuda.

Holness’ message adds to a wave of regional responses following the election, with Caribbean leaders highlighting expectations for continued cooperation on economic development, regional integration and shared policy priorities.

Browne begins his new term following his swearing-in, as his administration prepares to form a new Cabinet after the landslide victory.
