Director of Nursing at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Jacqueline Jnobaptiste, has extended heartfelt appreciation to nurses across Antigua and Barbuda as the country observes Nurses Week 2026 under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

In a message to nursing staff, Jnobaptiste praised nurses for their dedication, compassion and unwavering commitment to patient care, describing them as the “backbone of healthcare.”

“Every day, you make a difference through your professionalism, resilience, and caring spirit,” she said. “Your contributions continue to strengthen our healthcare system and bring comfort, healing, and hope to the patients and families we serve.”

Jnobaptiste said Nurses Week provides an opportunity to recognize the sacrifices nurses make daily and the excellence they demonstrate in caring for others.

She also encouraged healthcare workers to continue supporting and empowering one another while helping to build a healthier future for the nation.

“Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the excellence you demonstrate, and the lives you touch each day,” the Director of Nursing stated.

She concluded by wishing nurses across the country a “happy, rewarding, and inspiring Nurses Week 2026.”
