    Georgetta Lewis-Buchanan Announces Bid for ABFA First Vice President

    Georgetta Lewis-Buchanan, a longtime national football player, coach and sports administrator, has announced her candidacy for First Vice President of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA).

    Lewis-Buchanan brings more than two decades of experience in football, athletics and sports leadership. According to her campaign profile, she has represented Antigua and Barbuda as a national football player for approximately 20 years, earning several individual honours including Golden Boots, Most Valuable Player awards and Player of the Year recognitions.

    Her sporting achievements also extend beyond football. Lewis-Buchanan competed in martial arts internationally, winning three gold medals at the World Games in Melbourne, Australia in 2000, and securing first place finishes at the U.S. Open Tournament in 2004 and 2005.

    In coaching, she led teams to multiple school championships, including Princess Margaret Secondary School titles between 2014 and 2016, and served as Head Coach of Wings SC from 2019 to 2024. She was awarded the CPTSA Outstanding Coach Award in 2025 and was shortlisted for the CONCACAF Female Coach of the Year award in 2016.

    Lewis-Buchanan has also pursued football administration and education, completing several FIFA courses in grassroots development, refereeing, administration and coaching. She currently serves as Assistant Coach for Empire FC and Secretary of Old Road FC.

    Her campaign biography describes her as committed to sports development, leadership and mentorship within the football community.
