Angelica O’Donoghue Appointed Government Senator
The Antigua and Barbuda Reparations Support Commission has congratulated newly appointed Government Senator Angelica O’Donoghue following her swearing-in to the Upper House of Parliament.
In a statement, Chairman Ambassador Dorbrene O’Marde and members of the commission expressed confidence that O’Donoghue will serve with distinction in her new national role.
The commission praised the senator’s longstanding involvement in addressing social and economic issues affecting Antigua and Barbuda, describing her as a consistent advocate on matters of national importance.
It said O’Donoghue has demonstrated passion and leadership over the years and is expected to bring those qualities to her work in Parliament.
The group also voiced confidence that she will contribute meaningfully to national development and policymaking as part of the government’s Senate team.
O’Donoghue was among ten government senators sworn in last week, as the administration completed the formation of its parliamentary team following the April 30 general election.
Her appointment has been welcomed by several organisations and stakeholders, particularly within advocacy and cultural circles where she has been active.
