Jamaican nationals residing in Antigua and Barbuda continue to face ongoing challenges in accessing and processing essential documents from Jamaica. High costs, lengthy delays, and misunderstandings surrounding documentation requirements have significantly impacted immigration, residency, employment, and other legal application processes.

In response to these concerns, Caridocs, a Caribbean-based document processing and immigration support service, is introducing a structured initiative aimed at improving access, efficiency, and understanding throughout the documentation process.

Caridocs operates strictly as a processing and support service, assisting clients with the preparation and submission of documents required for international use. The organization does not replace any government agency, but instead works to bridge the communication and procedural gap between applicants and official institutions.

According to Principal Consultant Nevoy Morrison, one of the major issues affecting Jamaican nationals abroad is not only the financial burden associated with obtaining documents from Jamaica, but also the lack of clear guidance regarding proper procedures and authentication requirements.

“In many cases, applicants unknowingly submit documents that have not been properly authenticated for international use. This often results in delays, rejected applications, and additional expenses,” Morrison explained.

A major requirement frequently overlooked is the apostille or legalization process, which must be completed through Jamaica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in order for documents to be internationally recognized and accepted abroad.

“Many individuals are unaware that their documents must first be apostilled before submission. Unfortunately, this leads to applicants being forced to restart the process, creating unnecessary frustration, delays, and added costs,” Morrison added.

To address these challenges, Caridocs has developed a streamlined and cost-effective system designed to assist applicants in completing requirements correctly the first time, reducing processing errors while improving overall efficiency and communication.

The organization also emphasized that it does not issue official documents and serves solely as a facilitator to ensure applications are processed in compliance with official requirements and procedures.

As part of this initiative, Caridocs will host a “Jamaica Document Day” on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Villa Polyclinic Conference Room in St. John’s, Antigua.

The session is specifically designed to assist Jamaican nationals living in Antigua and Barbuda who require support with document processing, application guidance, and understanding official requirements.

Attendees will have the opportunity to receive assistance with:

    • Police Record Applications
    • Birth Certificate Processing
    • Apostille Processing

The organization is also warning members of the public to avoid unofficial “back-door” services claiming to provide fast-tracked documents. According to Caridocs, these services are often fraudulent and may expose applicants to serious legal consequences. All legitimate documents must be processed through the appropriate official channels and authenticated for international use.

For additional information regarding application requirements, processing fees, or event details, interested persons are encouraged to contact Caridocs directly at (268) 780-8681 or via email at info.caridocs@gmail.com.
