cFEM Bloom and Become Girls Day Camp Inspires Young Girls to Dream, Grow, and Lead

The cFEM Caribbean Female Empowerment Movement celebrated the successful hosting of its inaugural Bloom and Become Girls Day Camp on Sunday May 24, 2026 at the Ministry of Environment Conference Room, bringing together girls from across the community for a transformative day of learning, empowerment, self-discovery, and fun.

The initiative, founded by renowned counselor, educator, and youth advocate Nicola Reefe.-Babb, was designed to equip young girls with the confidence, skills, and mindset needed to navigate life successfully while embracing their unique potential. The camp provided a safe and supportive environment where participants were encouraged to believe in themselves, build healthy relationships, develop leadership skills, and dream boldly about their future.

Throughout the day, girls participated in a variety of engaging sessions, interactive activities, team-building exercises, empowerment sessions, creative projects, and discussions focused on self-esteem, personal growth, goal setting, resilience, and positive decision-making. The program emphasized the importance of recognizing one’s worth, embracing individuality, and developing the confidence to pursue personal and academic goals.

Participants also enjoyed opportunities to connect with peers, share their experiences, and learn valuable life lessons from facilitators who were passionate about nurturing the next generation of female leaders. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, encouragement, laughter, and inspiration as girls discovered new strengths and developed a greater sense of self-belief.

Founder Nicola Reefe-Babb, a native of Dominica expressed her gratitude to the volunteers, parents, supporters, and participants who contributed to the camp’s success. She noted that the vision behind the cFEM Caribbean Female Empowerment Movement girls chapter is to create meaningful programs that empower girls and young women to overcome challenges, unlock their potential, and become confident leaders within their communities.

“The Bloom and Become Girls Day Camp was more than just a one-day event; it was an investment in the future of our girls. We want every participant to leave knowing that she is capable, valuable, and destined for greatness,” Reefe-Babb shared.

Parents and guardians praised the program for its positive impact, noting that the girls left feeling motivated, inspired, and empowered. Many participants expressed excitement about future opportunities to engage in similar activities through the organization.

The success of the Bloom and Become Girls Day Camp marks an important milestone for cFEM (Caribbean Female Empowerment Movement) as it continues its mission of fostering personal growth, leadership, and empowerment among young girls throughout Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean region.

As the organization looks ahead, plans are already underway for additional programs, workshops, and initiatives aimed at helping girls transform into confident young women with purpose, vision, and determination. The cFEM remains committed to creating opportunities that inspire girls to bloom where they are planted and become the leaders, changemakers, and visionaries of tomorrow and looks forward to it becoming a household name in Antigua and Barbuda.

The community eagerly anticipates many more impactful programs from this organization as it continues to empower, nurture and transform girls from girls with dreams into women of vision who will positively shape the future of the Caribbean and beyond.
