Police are investigating the theft of a power drill from a building under construction in Belmont after the tool was reported missing last week.

Reports indicate that the theft occurred sometime between midday on June 18 and 7 a.m. on June 19. An unknown person or persons allegedly forced open a deadbolt lock on a northern metal door, entered the building, and removed the drill from a table inside.

The suspect or suspects reportedly exited through the same door used to gain entry.

A search of the surrounding area did not lead to the recovery of the stolen item, and the value of the drill has not yet been determined.

    Investigations are ongoing.
