Law enforcement officers have successfully completed a two-week Close Protection Officer Course held at the Sir Wright F. George Police Academy. The training was conducted in collaboration with the Regional Security System (RSS)as part of ongoing preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other major national events.
The course brought together participants from the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, Immigration Department, and Customs Department, alongside regional officers from Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
This intensive programme enhanced participants’ knowledge and practical skills in close protection operations, reinforcing their ability to provide professional security for dignitaries and other protected persons. It also strengthened regional partnerships and promoted greater cooperation among Caribbean law enforcement agencies.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda extends its appreciation to the Regional Security System, instructors, and all participants for their commitment to excellence and regional security.
Together, we continue to build a safer and more secure Caribbean.
