Sechuns The Band Captures Band of the Year as Ballo Wins Road March at Antigua Carnival 2026
Sechuns The Band emerged as the biggest winner of Antigua Carnival 2026, capturing the coveted Band of the Year title as officials announced the festival’s final results during the awards ceremony.
The troupe also secured first place in the Carnival Tuesday Large Band Category , while finishing as first runner-up in the Carnival Monday Large Band Category , capping off a strong showing across the two-day parade.
Insane Carnival also enjoyed a successful season, winning the T-Shirt Mas competition and placing first runner-up for Band of the Year. Myst Carnival finished second overall in the Band of the Year standings after claiming the Carnival Monday Large Band title.
In the music competition, Ballo’s hit “Bang E Line” was crowned the 2026 Road March , having been played 101 times during the festival. “Gyal Sidung” by Soca Villan and Island Prince finished first runner-up with 89 plays , while Dan Knowledge’s “Shake It Off” placed second with 74 plays.
J’ouvert honours went to Liberta Black Thing , which won First Band on the Road , while Caution was named Largest Band on the Road. High Voltage claimed First Jam Band on the Road , and Revo Band earned the title of Sweetest Jam Band on the Road.
In the Best J’ouvert Troupe competition, ChattaBox Company Ltd. took top honours, ahead of Flava FM One Caribbean and Brewmasters J’ouvert Troupe.
The Carnival Tuesday Small Band title went to RT Performers Cultural Entertainment , followed by Bachannal Carnival and WACC Mas.
Among the festival’s floats, the Central Board of Health claimed first place, with the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands and Fisheries finishing first runner-up and the Chinese Association taking second runner-up.
