Chief Executive Officer of Eastern Caribbean Collective Organisation [ECCO] Martin James is reporting an increase in payment to members as the organisation distributes over EC$1.7 million to songwriters and music publishers.

ECCO royalty payments are collected from media houses, festivals, carnivals, live events and business houses that use music during business activities. Royalty payments are also received from sister societies globally and the Mechanical Licensing Collective MLC.

The 2025 distribution will be reflected in the bank accounts of registered ECCO members from the week of September 23rd, 2026.

Mr. James has issued another plea to creators urging them to register their music to benefit from its public use.

Mr. James also lamented the non-compliance of a vast number of media houses that are yet to honor their obligations to the creative community. He said just a handful of media houses are current.

Of the total allocation, 55% goes directly to ECCO’s members within the OECS, with the remaining 45% paid out to sister societies abroad on behalf of their affiliated members whose works were used within ECCO’s territories
