A Guyanese family is appealing to LIAT Air for urgent assistance after repeated flight cancellations disrupted their Antigua Carnival trip and they eventually returned home without their luggage.

Their August 7 return flight to Guyana was moved to August 9 and then postponed again until August 10.

When the family finally arrived in Guyana, two checked bags were missing. They said they were later informed that the luggage had been left in Antigua because of aircraft weight restrictions, with several other passengers reportedly affected.

The family said they were told the bags would arrive by Wednesday or Thursday, but by Thursday they were still waiting and had struggled to get updates from the airline.

“Passengers deserve to be kept informed, treated with respect, and given clear information about their flights and belongings,” one passenger said.

The family is urging LIAT Air to urgently return the missing luggage and improve communication with affected passengers.
