The Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association has paid tribute to national athletes Cejhae Greene and Soniya Jones, thanking them for their continued representation of the country on the international stage.
In separate messages, the association highlighted the athletes’ dedication, perseverance and commitment to their sport while wishing them continued success.
Greene was praised for representing Antigua and Barbuda “with pride and excellence” throughout his career.
“Throughout the years, your dedication to the sport, resilience through every challenge, and commitment to competing at the highest level have made you an important figure in Antiguan and Barbudan athletics,” the association said.
It said Greene’s journey demonstrated the importance of discipline, perseverance and dedication and described him as an example for athletes coming behind him.
“As you continue your journey, we encourage you to keep pursuing your goals with the same determination and passion that have defined your career,” the association said.
Jones was also recognised for another season representing Antigua and Barbuda internationally.
The association praised her “determination, consistency, and strength,” saying her international experience has continued to contribute to her development.
“With each season, you continue to refine your craft, strengthen your performances, and represent Antigua and Barbuda with pride and distinction,” it said.
Jones was encouraged to continue building on the foundation she has established, trust in her abilities and take advantage of opportunities to improve her performances.
“There are still new levels to reach and greater moments to create,” the association said.
The organisation wished Greene continued excellence and meaningful milestones in the seasons ahead, while wishing Jones continued progress, breakthrough performances and greater success.
