Six professionals have been recognised for outstanding community service and contributions to national development at the Department of Youth Affairs’ inaugural Humanitarian Spirit Awards.
The awards were presented Thursday night at the Harrison Centre as part of National Youth Week celebrations.
Those honoured were Crown Counsel Zachary A. R. Phillips, Bishop Charlesworth E. Browne, Campbell Mitchell Coates, Scrub Life Cares founder Tanya Ambrose, civic and sports advocate Terry Blanchette, and youth mentor Aleah Greene.
Their contributions span international advocacy, youth mentorship, prison rehabilitation, maternal and sexual health, sports development, volunteerism and community outreach.
Director of Youth Affairs Dr. Jrucilla Samuel said the recipients demonstrated how service and leadership can strengthen communities and contribute to national progress.
