The Rotaract Club of Antigua and its International Service Committee will host its “Peace Starts Here” Youth Peace Initiative on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Rotary House, Nugent Avenue, St. John’s.

The initiative is designed to create a meaningful space for young people to engage in conversations surrounding peace, conflict and responsible leadership within Antigua and Barbuda.

Hosted by Rotarian Dr. Errol Samuel, the session will feature invited National and CARICOM Youth Ambassadors, who will contribute to discussions on issues affecting young people and their communities.

Key areas of discussion will include bullying and cyber conflict, interpersonal disputes and youth violence, communication and empathy, responsible leadership, and peaceful conflict resolution.

The initiative forms part of the Rotaract Club of Antigua’s commitment to youth engagement and peacebuilding under its 2026–2027 theme, “Leading with Heart, Serving with Purpose.” Through the programme, the Club hopes to encourage young people to consider the role they can play in promoting dialogue, empathy and peaceful approaches to conflict within their schools, homes, online spaces and wider communities.

The Club is also encouraging young people and members of the wider community to participate in its “Peace Starts Here Antigua” call to action by recording a brief video answering the question: “What does peace in Antigua and Barbuda mean to you?”

The Rotaract Club of Antigua invites young people and interested members of the public to be part of the conversation and help reinforce the message that building a more peaceful community begins with the choices and actions of individuals.
