A truck driver was taken to hospital Wednesday morning after his vehicle crashed into the perimeter wall of Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s residence.

According to ABS, the blue KIA K2700 truck crashed into the wall shortly before 6 a.m., with the impact awakening residents in the area.

Prime Minister Browne was reportedly at home at the time of the crash.

Emergency Medical Services and the Fire Service responded, and firefighters had to cut the male driver from the damaged vehicle.

He was subsequently transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment. His identity and the extent of his injuries have not yet been released.

Police have also not disclosed what may have caused the crash.

Investigations are expected to continue.
