Two officials from the Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA) are in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to participate in the inaugural North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Technical Managers Certification Course.
Jamille Nelson and Sonia Williams are representing Antigua and Barbuda at the four-day training programme, which runs from Oct. 13-16.
According to the ABAA, the course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to serve as technical managers at athletics competitions.
The training will focus on the effective application of World Athletics competition and technical regulations, helping officials strengthen their ability to oversee the technical aspects of track and field events.
Nelson currently serves as first vice president of the ABAA and chairman of its Technical Committee.
Williams is an ordinary member of the association and also serves on the Technical Committee.
The ABAA said the participation of both officials reflects its continuing commitment to improving the administration and delivery of athletics in Antigua and Barbuda.
The association extended best wishes to Nelson and Williams as they undertake the certification programme, which is expected to strengthen technical expertise within the country’s athletics administration.
