Authorities seized 594 kilograms of cocaine and detained three people aboard a vessel in the Caribbean following an aerial detection operation, Joint Interagency Task Force South said.

In a social media statement, the task force said a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations aircraft detected a go-fast vessel during a targeted monitoring operation.

The aircraft tracked the vessel, helping pave the way for its interception and the seizure of the drugs.

The statement did not identify the three people detained or specify the date and exact location of the operation. It also did not name the agency that intercepted the vessel or indicate whether charges had been filed.

The task force said its detection and monitoring efforts support U.S. Southern Command-led operations targeting drug trafficking networks across the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.
