The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre advises the public that outpatient chemistry testing will be temporarily suspended on Thursday, October 22, and Friday, October 23, 2026, due to an unexpected technical issue.

This suspension impacts common blood tests used to evaluate:

    • Blood sugar (Glucose)

    • Kidney and liver function

    • Cholesterol levels (Lipid profiles)

    • Other standard blood chemistry panels

Please note that all other laboratory services will continue to operate as usual. Emergency and inpatient testing remain unaffected.

If you are unsure whether your scheduled or requested tests are affected, please contact the Laboratory directly at 484-2720 for verification and guidance.

We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary disruption may cause and thank the public for their cooperation and understanding as we work to resolve the issue.
