An overseas surgeon is expected in Antigua and Barbuda to help treat a 13-year-old boy who suffered a gunshot wound to the face in Monday night’s deadly Bathlodge shooting.

The teenager will require reconstructive surgery, Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant disclosed at Thursday’s post-Cabinet media briefing.

The boy was among three people shot during the incident. His 24-year-old sibling was also wounded, while 20-year-old Sequanya Anthony was killed.

Cabinet said it is hoping for a full and speedy recovery for the two injured siblings and offered condolences to Anthony’s family following her death.
