The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs extends heartfelt congratulations to all newly appointed members of the Board of the Environmental Awareness Group (EAG).

The Ministry takes particular pride in recognizing Garth Simon of the Department of Environment on his appointment to the Board. As a valued member of the Department, Mr. Simon has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and national resilience. His work has contributed meaningfully to advancing Antigua and Barbuda’s environmental agenda, and his appointment is a reflection of both his expertise and dedication to service.

The Environmental Awareness Group, established in 1988, is one of the country’s leading non-governmental organizations focused on conservation and environmental advocacy. Over the years, the EAG has played a pivotal role in biodiversity protection, environmental education, and ecosystem restoration. Its work in offshore island restoration and the protection of endangered species, including the Antiguan racer snake, has earned both regional and international recognition.

While the Ministry warmly congratulates all members appointed to the Board and acknowledges the collective expertise they bring, it is especially pleased to highlight Mr. Simon’s achievement as a representative of the Department of Environment.

The Ministry wishes the Board every success in its continued efforts and looks forward to the positive impact of its work in preserving and protecting the natural environment of Antigua and Barbuda for generations to come.
