    Police Warn No Sale of Alcohol on Good Friday

    _NO SALE OF ALCOHOL ON GOOD FRIDAY_

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda

    The Police Administration is reminding the general public that the sale of alcohol is strictly prohibited on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, in accordance with the Licensing (Intoxicating Liquor) (Amendment) Act, No. 9 of 2014, of the Laws of Antigua and Barbuda.

    In keeping with the provisions of the Act, any licensed premises where intoxicating liquor is sold, exposed, or kept for retail sale, except those operating under a hotel licence, tavern licence, or club licence, must remain closed to the public for the entire day.

    For the avoidance of doubt, no alcohol is to be sold from midnight on Thursday, April 2, through the entirety of Good Friday.

    The Police Administration is urging all owners and operators of establishments that falls with this restriction to comply fully with the law.

    Failure to adhere may result in the revocation of licences and other legal actions in accordance with the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.

    The full cooperation of the general public is expected and appreciated.
