Health Minister Michael Joseph has completed visits to all 22 public clinics across Antigua as part of activities marking Nurses Week 2026.

During the island-wide tour, Mr Joseph visited clinics in Bethesda, Freetown, Newfield, Swetes, Liberta, Cobbs Cross, Jennings, Bolans, Johnson’s Point and Old Road, where he presented gift baskets to nursing staff in recognition of their service.

The baskets, which were personally sponsored by the minister, were given as a token of appreciation for the nurses’ commitment, compassion and dedication to patient care across Antigua and Barbuda.

According to the ministry, the initiative forms part of efforts to acknowledge the contribution nurses continue to make within the country’s healthcare system.

With the completion of the latest round of visits, all public clinics in Antigua have now received gift baskets, while visits to clinics in Barbuda are expected to follow.

Mr Joseph also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting healthcare workers and strengthening primary healthcare services across the country.

He said nurses remain central to patient care and community wellness, highlighting their role in delivering frontline healthcare services to the public.
