Dear Editor,
We are writing to bring attention to a concern affecting many employees of APUA and Inet.
APUA workers are required to pay $193.00, just like regular customers, for their internet service .
While employees understand that they are required to contribute toward their utility bills, many feel that $193.00 is a significant amount for staff, especially considering that there is currently no employee discount.
It is disappointing that employees cannot receive even a 10% or 15% staff discount on their utility bills. A discount of this nature would show appreciation for the employees who work every day to provide and maintain these essential services for the public.
There are many APUA and Inet employees who are not satisfied with the current pricing and feel that a reasonable staff concession should be considered. Employees should not necessarily expect free services, but there should be some form of recognition for the work they contribute to these organizations.
We are therefore appealing to management to reconsider the current staff rate and explore introducing at least a 10%–15% employee discount. This would provide meaningful relief to workers while still allowing the company to receive payment for the services provided.
We hope that management will listen to the concerns of its employees and consider a fairer and more reasonable arrangement.
Yours sincerely,
Concerned APUA/Inet Employee’s
