    Suspect being sought in shooting of police officer

    St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Monday, May 26, 2025

    Police are currently searching for the suspects involved in the shooting of a Police Constable during the early hours of Monday morning.

    Around 1:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26, Constable Travon Giddings was responding to a report at a nightclub located on Potter’s Main Road when he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant.

    The officer sustained gunshot wounds to both legs, along with other injuries, and is currently receiving medical treatment. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, and he is reported to be in stable condition.

    The suspects involved in this incident are considered to be armed and dangerous. The Police Administration is therefore urging those responsible to surrender themselves at the nearest police station without delay.

    Members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist the investigation are encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or call Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

    All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.

    The Police Administration remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and is taking all necessary steps to bring those responsible to justice.
