The Human Resource Professionals of Antigua and Barbuda (HRPAB) are organising a mental wellness retreat to help participants reset and refocus amid today’s high-pressure work environments.

The event, titled “Just Breathe: Finding Your Anchor,” will take place on 28 June at Blue Waters Hotel from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Wendy Jackson-DeSouza, HRPAB President, said the retreat responds to the growing demands on HR professionals and others feeling overwhelmed.

“Sometimes HR is taken for granted,” she told a recent televised segment. “This retreat reminds participants that everyone has individual needs and challenges.”

Mental health advocate Monifah St. John, a speaker at the event, stressed the importance of HR leading mental health efforts in the workplace.

The retreat will explore themes such as emotional boundaries, compassion fatigue and personal wellness. It is open to HR members and the public, with fees of EC$150 for members and EC$175 for non-members, which includes refreshments and access to all activities.

Those interested can register by phone at 779-8289 or 728-8990, or by email at hrpro.ab@gmail.com. Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing suitable for interactive sessions.

Jackson-DeSouza described the event as “more than a retreat. It’s a reset button — a chance to find your anchor and strength.”
