The National Bureau of Statistics, through the Census Office, reminds residents that Wednesday, June 25, 2025, has been officially designated as Census Day. Census Day marks the official reference point for the data being collected. It is the day on which every person residing or present in Antigua and Barbuda will be counted, regardless of when they are interviewed.

The National Population and Housing Census involves all residents of Antigua and Barbuda and is a vital national exercise that provides accurate and up-to-date information about the population and living conditions across the twin-island nation.

Data collected will be used to inform policies, guide development planning, and improve services in areas such as health, education, infrastructure, and employment.

The theme for this year’s census is: “Mapping the Present, Shaping the Future.”

Enumerators will soon undergo extensive training to prepare them thoroughly for visiting households nationwide. All residents are encouraged to provide honest and complete answers to ensure thorough and accurate data collection.

According to Deputy Census Officer Tracelyn Joseph, “A complete and accurate census allows us to better understand the needs of our communities. The information you provide will help shape the future of Antigua and Barbuda.”

The Census Office assures the public that all information collected will be kept strictly confidential and used only for statistical purposes.

Rohan Anthony, Deputy Census Officer, urges “every household to cooperate with enumerators, ask to see their official ID, and take the time to participate in this critical national effort.”

Residents can expect to start being visited by field officers by mid-July 2025. The Census Office adds that the public can be assured that once the Census fieldwork begins, residents will be adequately
