The confrontation, which occurred at approximately 2:55am, reportedly stemmed from a domestic dispute involving the victim and his 18-year-old girlfriend from Royal Gardens.

According to police reports, the situation escalated when the woman’s brother witnessed what appeared to be the victim pulling his sister during their altercation.

The brother, who resides at Royal Gardens, intervened by striking the victim with a hammer on the left side of his face, causing fractures.

The violent encounter continued when the victim was subsequently shot in the foot, though authorities have not yet released details about who fired the weapon or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The injured man was transported to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he received treatment for the damage caused by the hammer and the gunshot wound.

Medical personnel have confirmed that while the injuries required immediate attention, they are not considered life-threatening.
