The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured a hard-fought victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, winning by eight runs.

After winning the toss and electing to field, TKR restricted the Falcons to 167/6 from their 20 overs. In reply, the Knight Riders managed only 159/6 at the end of their innings.

TKR skipper Nicholas Pooran struggled at the crease, scoring just 10 runs from 14 balls before being stumped off the bowling of Rakeem Cornwall. Pooran, visibly upset, had charged down the pitch but completely missed the delivery, handing the Falcons a crucial breakthrough.

Despite the setback, there was still hope for TKR when captain Kieron Pollard took control. He remained unbeaten on 43 from 28 balls, blasting four sixes and three fours. Colin Munro, who smashed a century in TKR’s opening match, also chipped in with a brisk 44 off 18 balls, including eight fours and a six.

The defeat was TKR’s first of the tournament after their opening win, while the Falcons celebrated a spirited performance on home soil.
