The Department of Culture, in collaboration with our friends and partners, is proud to present Pan in the City—a vibrant celebration of our national instrument—on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the VC Bird Bust Band Stand in the heart of St. John’s.
This special event will feature performances by some of Antigua and Barbuda’s finest steel orchestras: Pandemonium Steel Orchestra, Panache Steel Orchestra, and CUB Hells Gate Steel Orchestra, alongside captivating solo showcases by Japhon Bartley, Gavin Francis, and the legendary IBO Lashley and Curtis “CC” Cochrane.
Keeping the energy high and the vibes alive, the afternoon will be hosted by Ibis the Livest and Anto. In partnership with St. John’s Development Corporation and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, attendees can also look forward to exciting ticket specials and giveaways for the upcoming CPL tournament beginning August 16, 2025.
A Celebration with Purpose
Pan in the City is more than a performance—it is a tribute to the enduring cultural legacy of the steelpan. Born in Trinidad and Tobago and embraced around the world, the steelpan is a powerful symbol of creativity, innovation, and resilience. This event aims to raise awareness of its vital role in our communities, not only as an art form but also as an educational and unifying force that connects generations and inspires national pride.
We invite media and the public to join us in capturing and sharing this celebration of Antigua and Barbuda’s rich musical heritage. Your coverage will help spread the message of steelpan’s importance in our islands, across the Caribbean, and around the globe.
