CXC examinations in Antigua and Barbuda will move fully electronic from January 2026, officials have confirmed.
Local CXC Registrar Dr Marrick Smith announced that both Paper One and Paper Two will be conducted online, following steady increases in the use of electronic testing.
“This year we saw an increase in the number of exams taken electronically,” Dr Smith said. “We are really moving from paper-based to electronic exams. Most centres engaged in Paper One electronically, and by next year the process will be complete.”
Technical invigilators, many drawn from the teaching profession, were praised for their work in ensuring the transition ran smoothly.
The change reflects CXC’s regional push towards digital-first assessment in line with international standards.
