The United States Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is pleased to announce that Ms. Adeola Matthew, a distinguished educator from Antigua and Barbuda, has been selected to participate in the 2025 “University Partnerships” Multi-Regional Project.

This project, organized under the U.S. Department of State’s prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), will bring together global education leaders to explore best practices in fostering international academic partnerships, research collaboration, and campus globalization.

Ms. Matthew, the Recruitment Officer at the University of the West Indies–Five Islands Campus (UWI-FIC), has more than 25 years of experience in education. In this role, she promotes UWI-FIC’s academic and co-curricular offerings to prospective students and provides strategic recommendations for program development. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Education in Language and Literacy.

During the three-week program in the United States, Matthew will join other international participants in visiting U.S. universities and organizations across multiple locations, including Washington, D.C., California, Arizona, and North Carolina. The program will focus on a variety of topics such as international student exchanges, public-private partnerships, and strategies for advancing innovation in higher education.

Participants will engage in discussions with U.S. university administrators, policymakers, and industry leaders to share insights and build networks that strengthen global academic collaboration.

The U.S. Embassy congratulates Ms. Adeola Matthew on her selection and is confident that her participation will contribute significantly to the advancement of higher education in Antigua and Barbuda.
