Member of Parliament for St. John’s Rural West, Richard S. Lewis, has expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Works and its road crew for recent repair works carried out in the Hatton area.

In a public statement, MP Lewis said he had previously used his own resources to provide temporary relief for residents affected by the deteriorating road conditions.

He noted that after calling on the Ministry of Works earlier this year to fulfill its commitment, repairs have now been completed.

“The Ministry has delivered relief,” he said, referring to the section of road west of Martin’s Shop leading to the Spanish Church of God of Prophecy.

“I want to thank the Ministry of Works and the hardworking crew that did the repairs. We are indeed grateful for the roadworks done to date and look forward to continued relief throughout the constituency.”

Lewis’ comments follow months of community concern about road conditions in Hatton and surrounding areas. The MP has pledged to continue advocating for further infrastructure improvements across St. John’s Rural West.
