The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services announced that a Tropical Storm Watch will be issued for Barbuda at 5 p.m. Tuesday as Tropical Storm Jerry continues to move toward the region.

A Tropical Storm Watch indicates that tropical storm conditions are possible within 48 hours. Officials said a similar alert could be extended to Antigua at 8 p.m., depending on the storm’s path and latest forecast data.

Jerry is expected to strengthen as it nears the Leeward Islands, prompting authorities to urge residents to stay alert and take precautions.

Residents are encouraged to check emergency supplies, secure outdoor items, and review their storm plans, while monitoring updates from the Met Office and the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) for accurate information.
