    Department of Culture Announces Selected Submissions for “Creatives Among Us 2025”

    The Department of Culture, Ministry of Creative Industries, is proud to announce the seven outstanding individuals selected for the 2025 edition of the _Creatives Among Us_ project, a national initiative designed to highlight and celebrate the remarkable contributions of Antigua and Barbuda’s cultural and creative practitioners.

    The chosen honourees for _Creatives Among Us 2025_ are:

    • Erol “Bumpy” Nanton – Carnival Arts
    • Veronica Yearwood – Dance
    • Gavin Christopher – Music
    • Elston Adams – Drama
    • Mohammid Walbrook – Visual Arts
    • Barbara Mason – Cultural Arts
    • Eustace “Gaytooks” Harris – Steel Pan

    These individuals represent the extraordinary range of talent and commitment that exists among us, from education, performance, creation, composition, choreography, craftsmanship, design, and innovation, to leadership in community and cultural development. Their work has paved the way and inspired generations across the fields in visual and performing arts.

    The Department extends heartfelt gratitude to the public for their overwhelming responses and participation in this year’s call for submissions. The number of nominations received reflects the deep appreciation our nation holds for those who have shaped our cultural identity through their artistry and dedication.

    All submissions not selected for this year’s feature can be resubmitted for consideration in the next edition of the project.

    The _Creatives Among Us 2025_ documentary, featuring the stories and journeys of these seven honourees, will premiere in a mini-documentary, shining a well-deserved spotlight on their impact and legacy in nation-building through the arts.
