Director of Tourism at the USA Office Dean Fenton donated essential care items to the Denis Bowers Rehabilitation Centre on Friday, supporting its mission to help transform the lives of young men in Antigua and Barbuda.

Formerly the Boys Training School, the centre was relaunched in February 2025 with a focus on holistic rehabilitation, education and reintegration under the motto “Building Brighter Futures Together.”

Fenton, an Antiguan living abroad, said giving back is both a privilege and a duty. “What the DBRC is doing here is truly transformative,” he said. “It’s not just about rehabilitation; it’s about restoration.”

Items donated included personal care supplies, cleaning products and vitamins.

Centre Director Randy Christopher thanked Fenton for the contribution, calling it an encouragement to staff and residents. “Your support and words of encouragement go a long way in motivating our team and the young men we serve,” he said.

During a tour of the facility, Fenton praised the centre’s holistic approach, which combines education, wellness, discipline and vocational training to prepare residents for reintegration into society.

The donation was coordinated by Angelica O’Donoghue as part of wider efforts to engage Antiguans and Barbudans at home and abroad in supporting institutions that empower the nation’s youth.
