Senator Michael Freeland has congratulated Antigua and Barbuda’s Director of Culture, Khan Cordice, following his second consecutive victory at the Trinidad and Tobago National Panorama competition.

Cordice led the Republic Bank Exodus Steel Orchestra to another win in the Large Conventional Band Finals at Panorama 2026, cementing his reputation as one of the region’s leading arrangers.

In a social media post, Freeland described Cordice’s achievement as historic and praised the discipline and dedication behind the accomplishment.

“Congratulations to our Director of Culture, Khan Cordice, on making history once again by leading the Republic Bank Exodus Steel Orchestra to victory for the second straight year at Panorama 2026 in Trinidad and Tobago,” Freeland wrote.

He added that Cordice’s success was no accident, but the result of “discipline, brilliance, and relentless dedication to the craft.”

Freeland said Cordice’s work as an arranger and musical leader continues to inspire a new generation of musicians and demonstrates that Antigua and Barbuda’s talent belongs on the world stage.

The Large Conventional Band Finals at Panorama are widely regarded as one of the most competitive steel pan events globally, featuring top orchestras from across Trinidad and Tobago.

Freeland also expressed personal pride, noting that Cordice is both a friend and neighbour in St. George.

“Well done, Khan! You have made St. George proud, and you have made Antigua and Barbuda proud once again,” he said.
