The jury in the Nigel Christian murder trial on Monday heard testimony from a forensic officer who documented the crime scene and related evidence following the July 10, 2020 abduction and killing of the senior Customs official.

Appearing via video link, the officer outlined photographs taken at the scene in Thibou’s, where Christian’s body was discovered, as well as images from his McKinnons home and other locations linked to the investigation. The court was told that items of evidential value were recovered at multiple sites, including Christian’s abandoned vehicle and surrounding areas.

Prosecutors allege that clothing, personal items and other materials found across several locations connect the three accused men to the crime. Among the items recovered were articles of clothing, gloves, and documents said to belong to the deceased.

The officer is expected to continue his testimony when the photographs themselves are shown to the jury.

The accused — Lasean Bully, Wayne Thomas and Saleim Harrigan — have pleaded not guilty.

During cross-examination, defence attorneys challenged aspects of the police investigation, raising concerns about arrest procedures, handling of seized items, and the extraction of security camera footage. A police sergeant acknowledged certain procedural oversights under questioning.

The trial continues before Justice Rajiv Persaud.

    Editor’s Note:
The court has cautioned against the publication of excessively detailed or graphic evidence while the matter is before a jury. Accordingly, certain aspects of the testimony have been summarized in keeping with those directions.
