The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWA) says the Cooks Sanitary Landfill is closed today due to what it described as an “overnight monitoring situation”.

In a public notice issued on Saturday morning, the authority said the temporary closure was necessary but did not provide further details about the nature of the issue.

The NSWA apologised for any inconvenience caused and urged members of the public to follow its official communication channels for updates.

It is not yet clear when the facility will reopen.
