A landmark water tank in Liberta has been restored following reconstruction works led by the Ministry of Works, according to St. Paul MP E.P. Chet Greene.

Greene said the restoration of the more than century-old structure, located just outside the Gracehill Moravian Church, has been welcomed by residents at home and abroad.

“The historic landmark water tank in Liberta has been restored,” Greene said in a statement, expressing “much thanks and appreciation” to the Ministry of Works for its rapid response and to contractor Vaughn Jackson for what he described as “skillful reconstruction work.”

He added that the project has resonated deeply within the community, calling the tank a symbol of Liberta’s heritage.

“I can say without fear of contradiction that every member of the Liberta community, at home and abroad, shares my gratitude and elation over the restoration of this landmark,” Greene said.

The structure, which has stood for more than 100 years, was recently repainted in bold national colors following the repairs.

Greene described the effort as preserving “a piece of our history,” underscoring the cultural and historical significance of the site to the St. Paul community.
