The Dominican Republic’s Consul General has recognised businessman Alex Martinez and his group for their support of Spanish Independence and Dominican cultural celebrations in Antigua and Barbuda.

The award highlights Mr Martinez’s role in promoting Dominican heritage and strengthening cultural ties within the twin-island nation, helping to keep traditions visible among the diaspora.

Presenting the honour, Consul General Julio Cesar Mateo Baez praised Mr Martinez’s leadership and his efforts to encourage others to preserve and celebrate Dominican culture, saying his work has fostered unity and pride in the community.

Mr Martinez thanked the Consul for the recognition, describing cultural support as both a passion and a responsibility, and pledged to continue promoting Dominican traditions for future generations.
