_POLICE SEIZE FIREARM, AMMUNITION, AND CANNABIS DURING EARLY MORNING OPERATIONS_
Police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force, Gang and Guns Suppression Unit, Special Services Unit, and the K-9 Unit conducted several search operations in the Red Hill community during the early morning hours of Monday, May 18, resulting in the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and quantities of cannabis.
Around 4:33 a.m., the team of officers executed multiple warrants at several properties, and during one of the operations, they seized one firearm, two magazines, several rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of cannabis.
One male suspect was subsequently taken into police custody on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
During a separate search of another property in the said area, officers discovered additional quantities of cannabis. Two individuals were also taken into custody on suspicion of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
A search was also carried out in a vehicle and a portion of cannabis was discovered. The items, along with the suspects were taken to the police station, pending further investigations.
