Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA) Issues Urgent Warning on Fraudulent Activity
The Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA) urgently informs the public of fraudulent activity involving the unauthorized use of our name, logo, and brand identity.
Fraudulent Social Media Activity
ABIA has identified individuals impersonating the Authority on Facebook and potentially other platforms. These impostors are promoting fake investment opportunities and soliciting funds from unsuspecting members of the public.
❗ ABIA does NOT:
• Solicit funds via Facebook, WhatsApp, or any social media platform
• Request payments from individuals through private messages
• Offer investment opportunities through unofficial channels
Any such communication is fraudulent and should be treated as a scam. This impersonation tactic has been previously recognized as a serious risk, with scammers misusing ABIA’s logo and branding to deceive individuals into making payments.
Website Status
ABIA is currently investigating reported technical issues affecting our official website: www.investantiguabarbuda.org
While the site may be accessible in some locations, intermittent disruptions have been reported. Our technical team is actively reviewing the matter.
Out of an abundance of caution, ABIA advises the public to:
• Rely only on verified ABIA channels
• Avoid clicking on suspicious links claiming to be associated with ABIA
Official Statement
ABIA remains committed to protecting the public and safeguarding the integrity of Antigua and Barbuda’s investment environment. We urge all individuals to exercise vigilance and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
