POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF 19-YEAR-OLD FEMALE AT DEVIL’S BRIDGE

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 19-year-old female whose body was recovered from the waters at Devil’s Bridge on Sunday, June 21.

Preliminary reports indicate that the young woman allegedly jumped from Devil’s Bridge into the sea sometime late Saturday night.

Following the report, police officers, along with members of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Coast Guard, responded and conducted an extensive search operation on both land and sea.

However, due to challenging conditions and other operational factors at the time, the search was temporarily suspended overnight.

The operation resumed early Sunday morning, and the Coast Guard subsequently recovered the body from the water and transported it ashore.

Police investigators remain on the scene conducting further inquiries into the incident.

The Police Administration extends sincere condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the deceased during this difficult time and asks that their privacy be respected as investigations continue.
