The Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Hon. Michael Joseph, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Brandon Browne of the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services (ABEMS) on the successful completion of a Master of Science in Acute Medicine from the University of South Wales.

Mr. Browne, a highly respected Critical Care Paramedic at ABEMS and Instructor with the ABEMS Academy has served the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services with distinction for several years. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence, professional development and the advancement of emergency medical care in Antigua and Barbuda.

Minister Joseph, himself a pharmacist by profession with a strong appreciation for the medical sciences, commended Mr. Browne for his dedication to furthering his education while continuing to serve on the front lines of healthcare.

“Brandon’s accomplishment is one that deserves to be celebrated. It is encouraging to see young professionals investing in their education and continuously striving for excellence in their chosen fields. His achievement not only represents personal success but also strengthens the quality of healthcare services available to the people of Antigua and Barbuda,” Minister Joseph said.

The Minister noted that, as one of the country’s younger ministers, he is particularly inspired by young professionals who choose to invest in their personal and professional growth.

“I want to encourage Brandon to continue building on this remarkable achievement and to remain committed to lifelong learning. Our nation benefits immensely when healthcare professionals continue to expand their knowledge and expertise. I hope his success serves as an inspiration to other young people to pursue higher education and never stop striving for excellence,” the Minister added.

Reflecting on his achievement, Mr. Browne said the programme has strengthened his ability to make sound clinical decisions in high-pressure environments while bringing valuable knowledge back to Antigua and Barbuda’s emergency medical system.

“Completing this Master’s programme has broadened my understanding of acute medicine and evidence-based emergency care. It has enhanced my clinical decision-making and equipped me with advanced knowledge that will ultimately benefit the patients we serve. As a Critical Care Paramedic and trainer with the ABEMS Academy, I now have an even greater opportunity to share current best practices with our personnel, helping to build an even stronger Emergency Medical Service for Antigua and Barbuda,” Mr. Browne said.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs joins the management and staff of the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services in congratulating Mr. Browne on this outstanding academic accomplishment and wishes him continued success as he advances his career and contributes to the continued development of emergency medical services in Antigua and Barbuda.
