ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Cost Pro Supermarket has permanently closed its doors, resulting in the termination of all employees due to redundancy.

In a letter dated July 9, management informed staff that the Woods Mall supermarket has ceased operations and that their employment ended on the same day because their positions were no longer required.

The company said employees will receive their salaries up to their final day of work and that payroll records are being reviewed to calculate any additional payments owed, including accrued vacation pay, notice pay where applicable, and severance pay in accordance with Antigua and Barbuda’s labour laws.

Management advised that employees will receive a final payment statement by July 17 , outlining any outstanding amounts due, subject to statutory deductions.

Workers have also been instructed to return all company property, including uniforms, keys, identification cards, equipment and documents, by July 17.

Cost Pro thanked its employees for their service and wished them well in their future employment.

The closure marks the end of the supermarket’s operations at Woods Mall.
